I found Markel Handyman Services on Craigslist. I emailed him for a paint job (all doors and moldings) and he insisted to hire him and stated that I will be very happy with the quality of his work. So I agreed to hire him.He always started around 9 or 10am. He would show up for a couple of hours and then leave. When he started to paint the brand new doors (which all required to be sanded first), he refused to sand. His exact words were "that is not my job". I gave him 5 sheets of sand paper to use, he did not use them but took the sheets with him.I had to do all of the sanding myself, a few weeks after having quadruple bypass surgery.All of the doors that he did paint, required a repaint job due to his awful quality of work and sloppiness. The floors, cabinet doors, mirrors and some walls were all covered in his paint. This man does NOT know how to properly prep and paint. He also wanted to install my floors but after I saw his awful paint job, I asked him to leave.

He had me inspect and review the key stages of the job. He takes pride in his work which I think of as craftsmanship.
